The Legal Services team at Waggener Edstrom is growing! We are responsible for providing legal advice to its internal clients on a diverse range of issues. Waggener Edstrom has an immediate opening for an attorney or contract administrator to join our Portland, Oregon office. This position will report to the Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs. Some international travel may be required.

| Responsibilities: |
You will work as an in-house lawyer, supporting one or more business groups within the agency.
You will provide IP subject matter expertise and be responsible for company-wide licensing (in-bound and out-bound), development (web and software) agreements.
You will also be responsible for managing the agency’s IP portfolio, while also providing general law and business advice.
A large component of this position is drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements that support the agency’s business.
Additional responsibilities will include providing counsel to internal clients on trademark registration and use, managing the agency’s US Safe Harbor Certification and other privacy-related registrations and requirements.
You will also work with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain CSR reports, codes of ethics, small business subcontracting programs.
You will also be responsible for developing and presenting training/information programs for Waggener Edstrom personnel.
You will track the status of license and contract renewals and work with the internal clients to ensure timely renewals.

| Qualifications: |
3 plus years applicable experince
Training or experience in copyright law, particularly software licensing (in-bound and out-bound) and web development/design agreements.
Training or experience also in trademark law. Experience providing counsel to in-house employees in these areas would be a plus.
Strong interest in and knowledge of legal issues, including FTC regulations, associated with use of social media for business use.
Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Requires a Bachelors degree plus a law degree and admission or eligibility for admission to the Oregon State Bar.
Strong legal and business judgment, with excellent communication skills.
Excellent drafting and writing skills.
Interest in forming good working relationships with co-workers.
Prior in-house experience in a licensing or contract administration position for a professional services organization or in-house experience in a contracts or legal function preferred.
